The artists who have worked at this project are: Roberto Agnoletti, Filippo Basetti, Gloria Campriani, Andrea Dami and Dario Longo.
The artists, evidently, have used their natural creative characteristics and inspiration so that the installations reflect different artistic languages which go from the “scultura Sonora (sonic sculpture)” by Dami, to the installation of “arte decontestualizzata (out of context art)” by Basetti, from the “impronte (imprints)” of stone by Agnoletti, to the oggetti (articles) found by Longo, and the fili-forme (threaded shapes) by Campriani. Gloria Campriani has created two installations in the garden of the Villa entitled “FiliFORME (Threaded Shapes)”. With her threads she has wrapped and tied up several trees and columns, creating in this way unexpected evocative images. Each work of art has been created especially for this garden, both for their relationship with local plants, and for the geometric greenery which surrounds Villa Peyron.
Corners of art at the Bosco di Fonte Lucente, whose name recalls a particular spring of water, documented from the 1500s and located to the north of Villa Peyron, whose garden has been built on three terraces sloping to the south, overlooking Florence. The first terrace is contemporary to the construction of the villa, which was built on Etruscan ruins (as archaeological finds underground would seem to bare witness), the other terraces were built by the same Angelo Peyron and later by his son Paolo.
This garden is enchanting, with its green spaces, trees, small paths and walks ennobled with statues which come from Venetian Villas because the original statues were destroyed during the war. Corners embellished with greenery, ‘romantic’ corners, as were the gardens at the end of the 1800s, which the artists – Roberto Agnoletti, Filippo Basetti, Gloria Campriani, Andrea Dami and Dario Longo - with their works of art wish to update, bringing them to the present day, because history cannot halt, this thanks also to the collaboration of the landscape architect Saverio Lastrucci. The exhibition is sponsored by the Municipality of Fiesole and CARICENTRO. (translated by Lola Teale)
